I've been wanting to post this since i started blogging, but i never really sat there to do it. It's a very quick and super easy colorful eye makeup look that i just love doing during spring, and especially summer. Hope you like it. :)
First things first, i should say i rarely do really colorful makeup on my eyes for 2 important (for me) reasons:
- I have heterochromia. For those of you who dont know what that is, it's basically when you have different colored eyes. So while my right eye is green, with flecks of darker green and a center light hazel around the pupil, my left eye is light hazel with some green streaks. Now keep in mind that my hair is almost 90% of the time a golden-ish medium blonde. There are lots of colors going on already, so i am wary of adding any more of it. Not to mention that it always ends up looking so much different on each eye (in comparison with neutrals, where it kinda gives the same effect to both my hazel and green eye, cant explain it better, lol)
- I LOVE bright lips and bright cheeks. When i say bright, i mean bright. Neon. And for some of you the whole bright eye-bright lip-bright cheek may work, on me, it's just a no-go. So i wouldnt personally do crazy eyes with crazy lips, but if you can rock it, then flaunt it girlfriend!
So with that being said, let's move on to Option No1:
My GREEN eye: This is a look that i just love wearing in hot summer weather (a white dress and gold sandals kinda day). I keep the rest of the make up simple, with bronzed skin, maybe some highlighter and a sheer or semi-sheer gloss (as i said, nothing crazy, although you can rock a coral lippie too if you want, i do that sometimes too).
Pics:
I used a cream base (MAC's Rubenesque is amazing for this, i reviewed it HERE , then i applied a bronzey gold e/s all over the lid, a medium brown e/s on the outer v, lined my tight line and waterline with a black pencil, liquid eyeliner (i always wing it, you dont have to if you dont like it) and some mascara (p.s. HATE the mascara i'm using at the moment). Oh! Also highlighter on the inner tear duct. Then i popped some shimmery aqua e/s on my lower lash line to give that "sea under the sun effect". This one is a duochrome between light blue and goldy green and i just love it! (photos dont do it justice!)
Truth be told, i dont absolutely love this on my eyes. I mean, i love it as a makeup look, it's so summery and beach-y, but i think blue eyes would just take it to the GODDESS level. Nonetheless, i think it looks pretty on all eye colors and while it's colorful, it's not crazy lookin' or difficult to recreate. Anyone can do this, :)
And a last close up:
Option No2:
My HAZEL eye. I thought i'd put there a second option and demonstrate it on my brown eye (just because i did this on the same day and it was convenient! lol). Jokes aside, this is indeed a look i go for, less frequently than the first one, but still a cute and colorful one (imo). This one is more "contrasting", using corals and a bit of peaches, but keeping the same aqua element on the bottom line. Very similar with the 1st one but not quite the same.
Pics:
I dont know why, but i think i like this eye more. It's easier for makeup i guess, and i always prefer how it ends up looking than the green. It's a weird thing to have to deal with different colored eyes, lol. Mine are not that far apart color-wise (i mean i've seen dark brown with light blue etc) but still, i cant help favoring one against the other when doing makeup, haha :S Aaanyways, for this look i used:
- Same peachy gold base,
- a coraly gold e/s all over the lid (MAC's Expensive Pink -loove), then a shimmery peachy coral in the crease and outer v,
- a little bronzer to blend that out (using bronzer instead of e/s... REBEL!!)
- champagne highlighter on the tear duct
- and the same aqua e/s on bottom lash line.
- No pencil here, just a liquid eyeliner and my dreadful mascara.
A close up:
And that's it for this springy/summery look, i hope you liked it and even if you didnt, it's ok! haha :) I love my neutrals, but some time we need some pop of color, dont we?
Hope you enjoyed the post and i'll talk to you guys soon! Do comment below what's your favorite go-to summer look, i'd love to know!
