My Most Used Inglot Quad for Fall: The Sweet Mushroom Palette

Hey everyone! So today i'm reviewing for the first time one of my biggest loves as far as makeup is concerned : Inglot Eyeshadows! I have so many of them, so i thought it would be wiser to show you guys my stuff in parts so you don't die out of boredom with the hugest Inglot Collection post. So for today, i'll be showing you my Inglot Sweet Mushroom Palette! <3
First of all, there is no such name for the palette, so before you rush out to the stores to ask this by name, let me tell you i named it. ^_^ Now, a quick intro about the brand before i get to the fun stuff:
Inglot is a Polish company based in USA, which is very well known for the quality of their products compared to very reasonable prices. To say it better, you're buying high end quality by paying drugstore prices. Does it get any better than this?? (Just said this in Chandler Bing's tone). Well, actually it does!

Inglot is a make-up brand that provides a huge variety of products, really everything anyone can imagine: make-up, brushes, nail polishes, lashes, pigments etc. We have a store in Thessaloniki and another one in Athens, and i hear it's not the most accessible stores around the world because they don't have as many selling places such as MAC for example. Nevertheless, if you can get your hands on Inglot stuff i highly suggest you try them out.

What i love about Inglot:
  • Great quality, reasonable prices.
  • Hugest variety of shades in every category (eyeshadows, lipsticks, polishes) Different formulas on products (really amazing, especially if you're buying foundations, oily/dry skin plays great part on choosing process.)
  • The FREEDOM SYSTEM! You can basically build your own palette (like MAC), only there are available palettes for blush, concealer, lipsticks, powders or a combination of those stuff too! Apart from eyeshadows of course, which is my No1 addiction. It's so fun customizing your make-up instead of just buying it pre-packed.
What i don't love about Inglot:
  • Although the variety of shades is great, i feel they could do better with some diversity. I mean, there are like SO MANY eyeshadows, but they have only one or two duochrome shades. I wish they'd put a little more thought on the products, especially some of the eyeshadows, i wish they 'd have more mutlidimensional shades, like MAC's club or expensive pink. They do have some pretty exciting pigments though.
  • Names Inglot. Names, Y U NO give names to your products?? It's really confusing when they have numbers for every single product, it makes so hard to remember what you want or what you bought. Plus, names give personality to a product! MAC and NARS are like the masterminds of product naming, and i believe it's a part of their success. Nars Orgasm, Corallista blush, MAC's Angel lipstick, Rebel, Satin Taupe eyeshadow... You can relate to their products this way. I 've litterally seen so many times the numbers of my Inglot e/s but i had to take them out of the palette just to write them here, i just couldn't remember! -.- So i'm naming my palettes to make it more fun (how sad am i? lol) Inglot, if you're reading this. Name your sh*t. Hire me to do it, i volunteer!! (oh hey, there's my Katniss Everdeen moment, who would know? lol)
Enough on the brand, let's move on to the palette.

Inglot has a variety of palettes, that you can choose from, a duo, a trio, a quad, a 5 pan palette, a 10, a 20 and a 40 i believe. The palettes are really sturdy and feel expensive so that's a plus. They come with a magnetic lid, which is semi-sheer, i like that because you can see what colors are inside (as opposed to black lids in MAC palettes). The eyeshadows come in pans and stick to the palette cases which are also magnetic, so super easy to create one. Not so easy to re-arrange them though, because it is so HARD to take them out! There is no space to put your finger and pull, and i use a safety pin to stick them out of the damn thing, usually destroying half of the products (yeah, these are the dents in there, don't hate me).

The pans weight about 2.7 to 3.5 gr (glitter ones weigh more) so that's phenomenal compared to the 1.3 gr of MAC. They retail for 6 euros each, while the palettes vary according to size. The quad costs 6 euros, while the 40 square palette costs 22 euros. So the bigger, the pricier.

The eyeshadows also come in different finishes:
  • Pearl: my favourite finish. Buttery, with a satiny frosty finish. Really pigmented.
  • Matte: well, as you can tell, no shine at all. They are very good mattes though, not chalky.
  • Double Sparkle: matte base with glitter particles. Meh.
  • AMC: this stands for Advanced Makeup Component. These are supposed to be talc free and overall, better for your skin. There are AMCs and AMC Shine ones, so finishes vary. They can be either matte, or a bit frostier. Not as pigmented as Pearls but still of great quality.

I have many eyeshadows, but i'm one of those people that will be in love with some colors for a month or two and wear these kind of colors and then switch to different tones next. Now i'm going through my taupe and burgundy phase. I like my eye fairly neutral, so i recently re-arranged a quad palette for everyday use. There's a  taupe shade (402 pearl), a peachy champagne (397 pearl), a matte mauvy taupe (344 matte) and a burgundy plummy brown (423 pearl).

I know the palette is nasty, i use it everyday so it gets really dirty. :(

up to down: 402, 397, 423, 344

344 (down), 423 (up)

397 (down), 402 (up)

Overall, i really like this palette. It's neutral, but it's not your  typical browns and beiges. I usually use all colors in different combinations at a time. For instance 397 can be used as an all-over the lid color, or as a highlight too (GREAT highlight if you ask me). 423 is great for a night out smokey eye or as subtle outer v shading during the day. 344 is great for blending in the crease. I'll post some EOTD with those so i can show you couple of ways to use them. :)

Are there any dupes for MAC?
Definitely. 402 is a lot like Satin Taupe, only it misses that plumminess to it, and it's a bit lighter. 344 is similar to Quarry. 397 a peach version of Naked Lunch. 423 a mix between Sable and Beauty Marked.

Why should i prefer Inglot eyeshadows against other brands?
The quality is exceptionally good, they are buttery and smooth, just a dream to work with. They price for 6 euros and noone can beat that. You can build your own palette according to your needs and preferences. They last and they are very pigmented.

Hope you enjoyed this post and keep an eye on future Inglot posts, i will be definitely doing more because i am in love with the brand. If any of you happen to create this palette let me know how you liked it! :) Kisses to my dolls Lucy ( http://lousousou.blogspot.gr/) and Stelina (http://www.youtube.com/user/Stelinastewart) who are newbies to Inglot and let me share my Inglot excitement with them, xx

  15. is it 6 euro per eyeshadow?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yes! Or 10 euros if you get them individually (in a pot, where you just have it as it is, it doesnt go in the palette. The selection is not the same though)

  16. You can get the eyeshadow pans out by using the magnet on the corner of the lid. It takes two or three tries but it will pick up the pan by the rim and move it easily. 😊
