Fall Trend 2012: Red Eyeshadow!

Hi everyone! So today i wanted to share with you all my EOTD (Eye of the Day, lol). I did a red eyeshadow look, which is so hot right now, it's like THE trend for fall and i am definitely lovin' it! However, red eyeshadow can be quite tricky to wear, so i thought i'd show a wearable version of it that you can rock day or night! :)

A liitle warning:
First of all, i want to put this out there, before i get to the look. I do know my eyebrows are terrible, not filled in properly and all. I know. I grow them out so i can go to a proffessional and take care of them for me, so i am not allowed to tweeze. :( I apologise for them though, it was killing me to see that they photographed 1000 times worse than they really are, but hey, what can i do.

Ok, so on to the eye make up. I went for a coppery/cranberry look that i think compliments my eye color (green for my right eye and hazel for my left one, :P ) and overall i think it will look good on most skintones and eye colors, but especially green-eyed gals could rock this (as red being the opposite of green, it will make your eyes POP. Such a stupid expression, "pop", but everyone uses it, so hey ...it will make your green eyes "pop"!) I generally love warm colors when doing my makeup and let's be honest, you can't get warmer than red. When doing a red eyeshadow look though, be sure to keep the rest of your makeup nice and neutral, you don't want anything too flashy on your lips and cheeks, otherwise you'll look like a clown.

Piccies time!

See how fall-ish it looks? LOVE it. Not lovin' the concealer
setting into my fine lines, but anyways....

I did a gradient effect with darker-lighter-darker e/s.

Flash used.

No flash used. Gloomy day today!

Yeah, i went a little picture happy with my eye today.

Hello left eye! Ok, this is how your blush should look, nothing overpowering .
I used Essence's Secret-it-girl, cheap as hell and really good quality!

I have to say at this point, that in real life it looks a bit darker and redder, the flash here makes it a bit orange-red but i think you get the idea.

Products used:

I used:
  • Inglot 450 (a beautiful pinkish cranberry color) in the inner and outer corner of my eye.
  • Inglot AMC Shine 30 (to highlight my tear duct)
  • MAC eyepencil in Coffee (in my waterline) -forgot to put this in the picture! :S
  • MAC's Expensive Pink e/s all over the lid with a fluffy brush, blending upwards (so it toned down the cranberry e/s)
  • L'oreal Collagene 24h mascara (review here)
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black.
  • Essence Silky Touch Blush in Secret-it-Girl (this ones looks shimmery but the shimmer doesn't transfer to your skin!)
  • Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipgloss Duo (i used the neutral shade which is 07 Tempting Tearose)
  • MAC Rubenesque paint pot, used as a primer. Reviewed here

And that was it for my coppery/red eye makeup look, do tell me if you loved it or hated it or if you're planning to get into reds and burgundys for this fall. I definitely am! Can't wait to spice up my berries with a more dramatic makeup look for a night out!

                                                         Kisses to y'all!!

    1. aw thank you! <3 I love this trend, i wear it so often lately. Well, i agree you must avoid copper red colors, but if you go towrads more purply reds your eyes will look amazing! Purple is the best color for brown eyes in my opinion :)Like MAC's Plum Dressing e/s. It's warm plum color, really flattering on brown eyes! :D You can replace my copper color (the Expensive Pink one) using a plum all over the lid and then the cranberry one to warm up the crease! :)

  2. I saw it in person and I L*O*V*E*D it ,although I do agree with Inna, wouldn't look too amazing on brown eyes (i have really dark brown eyes) . What I used to wear was a cool version of it,the berry ice shade of Estee Lauder's pure color eye, maybe you could give that a go . *S* http://www.google.gr/imgres?hl=el&client=firefox-a&hs=xkb&rls=org.mozilla:el:official&biw=1280&bih=885&tbm=isch&tbnid=bbh83GVZax0eIM:&imgrefurl=http://www.getprice.com.au/ESTEE-LAUDER-Pure-Color-Eye-Shadow-23-Berry-Ice-Unboxed-17g-Gpnc_289--69657726.htm&docid=3rsWoGy8dqfTAM&itg=1&imgurl=http://www.getprice.com.au/images/uploadimg/2430/12293880602.jpg&w=300&h=300&ei=86NlUI69JMa_0QXStoGgDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1014&vpy=547&dur=4880&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=142&ty=159&sig=108027722414709123518&page=1&tbnh=166&tbnw=143&start=0&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:21,s:0,i:131

    1. Sistah! <3 Like i said to Inna, you can replace the copper with a plum, and keep the cranberry color in the crease to define it, i think it'll look amazing! :)
